CKAR is involved in various Job Readiness training programs ensure that our participants are marketable and fully equipped with the skills necessary to be successful once they are employed.

ESOL for Work Classes for People of All Languages

Counseling in Healthy Eating & Healthy Living

Sarvis Café will offer healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and special events geared to empower the community and enable healthier lifestyles.

Participate in Wells Fargo Guest Chefs “Cook and Chat” series that includes preparing interesting healthy food choices that are available in the cafe.

Catering and special events hosted in the cafe or the KP Discovery Patio.

Job Placement Services

CKAR provides one-on-one job counseling, resume re-building, cover letter development and training on the Maryland Workforce Exchange. These job readiness training programs ensure our participants are marketable and fully equipped with the skills necessary to be successful once they are employed.

Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (HIP) offers housing and financial counseling for the homeless through HUD’s Rapid Rehousing Programs.

ESOL/Basic Computer 5-Week Classes

  • Learn Basic English for beginners and basic computer training in or classrooms.

  • All languages are welcome and we are here to help you.

  • Certificate awarded at course completion.

  • Day and evening classes available.

  • Registration required.

Workforce Development & Training

Greater Riverdale Career Empowerment Center offers training, counseling and mental health therapy for groups and individuals. Classes and sessions are bi-lingual.

We work closely with employers to address their company requirements with certificate programs in Customer Service, ServSafe and Culinary arts.
